Fees

DRS wants to make our services available to everyone who needs them; so that everyone has an opportunity to use a civil process to resolve conflict and disputes – for the betterment of their own lives and society as a whole.  Therefore, fees are typically determined on a case-by-case base.

The complexity of a matter, time needed to reach an agreement and the level of documentation that is required are the primary factors for determining fees.

All Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services are billed at $120 per hour.  Reduced rates if you qualify.  Travel and related expenses may apply.  The fees are normally divided between the parties equally; however, both parties are jointly responsible for the total fees for services and expenses.

Services include, but are not limited to: time spent with you and/or other parties in the case, time required to study documents, research issues, information gathering, correspondence with others, telephone calls to you and/or on your behalf, email review and correspondence, preparation of draft and final documents and agreements, and any other expenses or reasonably necessary tasks to facilitate your final negotiated agreement or arbitrated outcome.

Retainers

Cases referred to us by a court or other public or private agency, depending on the type and complexity, will require a minimum 4-hour retainer (usually divided between the parties) made payable to “Dispute Resolution Services, LLC” along with your acceptance to use our services – prior to the beginning of the first meeting.  Billed services and expenses will be deducted from the retainer at the rate(s) quoted above.  Any unused balance of the retainer fee will be refunded upon completion of the process and delivery of associated documents.

Parties involved will be jointly responsible for fees and expenses, as well as individually accountable for the payment of such fees.  After the balance of the retainer has been applied, payment for appointments will be due at the time of appointments unless prior arrangements are made.

If a billing agreement is established, you will receive an accounting statement of fees and expenses incurred in-between appointments or continuances that are related to the ADR process.  After your full retainer has been applied any remaining balance is expected to be paid in full no later than 15-days from the billing date unless other arrangements are made.  Late fees may apply.

Cancellation Fees

A one hour charge is assessed for any cancellations that occur less than 48-hours before a scheduled appointment.
